Registration Agreement

If you fail to read this you are not exempt from legally binding obligations. If you do not supply FULL and ACCURATE information required on sign up, your registration will be REJECTED INSTANTLY. Registrations that appear to have inconsistencies of any sort will also be REJECTED without follow up. Registrations that appear to originate from ANONYMOUS PROXIES will be rejected.

All the terms and conditions here may be varied and will apply retrospectively to all who have signed up, so long as they remain members of the site. The Administrators may vary the terms and conditions and they will apply retrospectively and prospectively.

Registration Guidance
This site is called 'Things Legal'. This means that 'things must be legal' at the site. We are very strict about legal and ethical conduct, and the site's integrity. The site's owners and moderators may make exceptions in specific areas of this site where separate guidance and rules may apply.

Mindful of the above and our legal obligations to hand you over to law enforcement agencies for any illegality, the Site Administrator absolutely needs to have your full first and last name. These will be assumed to be genuine and accurate - barring any reason to suspect otherwise. Those details will not be shared with other members of the site or the public or any third party (other than a law enforcement agency with a genuine interest). One or more Administrators may contact you to further check your status. You may be asked about your interests in law and matters related to our purposes. You will not be asked for personal information like your bank account/credit card. Failure to cooperate or any defensive conduct in relation to such inquiries will probably lead to swift ejection.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the username appropriate. Your username cannot be changed after registration. You are strongly advised not to create a username that resembles your true first and last names. You agree to never give your password out to another person, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason.  We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft. A complex password resembles something such as %&RyPD8K3ogioYg Do not use this as your password. You can generate complex passwords at Password Generator but you do not have to use this if you do not trust it. We recommend Roboform Everywhere for creating, storing complex passwords and using them. You may use any other service or method that is secure for you. [We provide no warranties for that paid service/software. We do not take commissions from Roboform.]

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clear and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or inappropriate could lead to immediate explusion, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable in the alternative - at the sole discretion of the Administrators.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note that the site places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The site does not collect or send any other form of information to or from your computer (obviously the site's content is served to you).

Warning: This site is not 'hack proof' - nor is any other site out there. We do not provide commercial or military grade cybersecurity. Should you have concerns or doubts, that if your name and email address become disclosed by an unauthorised illegal breach of the site's security, that you will be put at some risk to your rights or security  - you are advised not to proceed with registration.

We accept no liability for any or any part of the following:
1. Personal injury arising from or related to your use of this site.
2. Injury or harm you may cause to anyone else.
3. Loss of content you submit to this site.
4. Any breach of your rights or losses arising from any unauthorised illegal infiltration of this site (commonly known as a hack).
5. Any illegal activity you may cause or contribute to.
6. Any misconduct or public mischief you may cause or contribute to.

The above list cannot possibly cover every issue. What we mean to say in simpler language is, 'You are responsible for your own actions - completely and entirely'.

1. We accept no duty of care for persons who suffer or are likely to suffer some disability of body or mind. No special adjustments or allowances are provided.
2. If you become dissatisfied for any reason after successful registration you can take up your dissatisfaction with the Administrators or moderators - or you can opt to leave.

Site Guidance:
You are told all of the following -
1. This site is not a commercial service.
2. This site is privately owned and funded privately.
3. Do not post anything that could compromise your safety, security or personal well-being.
4. To heed the advice of any moderator or Administrator of the site.
5. You are responsible for your own actions.
6. The site administrators and moderators will NOT have a duty to modify any post you make, save where it is plainly illegal.
7. You should avoid posting anything on this forum if you happen to find yourself under the influence of alcohol or any other substance. Involuntary intoxication is not an excuse.
8. Subject to other general obligations, the site Administrator may relax the use of language for limited periods in specific forums. Nonetheless, 'relaxed-language' should not be directed even obliquely at another member's person. Persons who are likely to be offended must not access those forums.
9. You agree to comply within a reasonable time with an Administrator's request to correct one or more posts you have made.

In addition to the above you agree to all of the following.

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Lack of knowledge of copyright law in any jurisdiction in the world is not an excuse. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum. It is not the job of the Administrators or moderators to ask you for your right to post copied materials. You need to make a full declaration on how you know you have the right when posting content or links to content that may contain copied content. Failure to do so risks the content being removed and you being banned and ejected instantly with no rights of appeal.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we cannot actively monitor all posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify the administrators or moderators of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realise that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.
